How to Play
Number Link deals twelve digits across a 72-cell board — 8 rows by 9 columns — which works out to six tiles of each digit, or three separate pairs. That density is the character of the game. Select a 7 and there are five other 7s on the board to try, so a digit is almost never genuinely stuck; what runs out first is the clock.
Clearing a pair deletes both tiles, so the board thins as you go and routes you could not find at the start usually open up later. Base pay is 10 points a pair. Link again inside two seconds and the combo steps up, adding 5 more per level, so the score measures how quickly you can chain scannable pairs rather than how cleverly you choose one.
You get 120 seconds, three hints and three shuffles. If the board ever reaches a state with no legal pair at all, it is reshuffled automatically — the game retries up to thirty times before it gives up and ends the round.

Tips & Tricks
- 1Every digit appears six times, so when one partner is walled off there are still two other pairs of that digit somewhere — switch digits instead of forcing the route
- 2The route search reaches one cell beyond the border, so the outer row and column is the cheapest part of the board to clear and the part you should save for a combo chain
- 3The combo dies after two seconds, which is shorter than one line animation — decide your next pair before you tap the second tile
- 4Ten per pair plus five per combo level means the chain pays more than the pairs do: 36 pairs cleared flat is 360 points, chained at an average 4x it is over a thousand
- 5A dead board is reshuffled for free, so spend all three manual shuffles on boards you can technically play but keep failing to read

How many times does each number appear?
Six. Twelve digits fill 72 cells, so each one forms three pairs — the same number is always available somewhere.
What happens if no pair can be linked?
The board reshuffles itself immediately, and keeps reshuffling up to thirty attempts. You do not spend a manual shuffle on a dead board.
How many turns can a connecting path make?
Up to two turns, which is three segments. The path must also be clear of every tile still on the board.
How is the score calculated?
10 points a pair, plus 5 multiplied by your combo level from the second consecutive link onwards, so a 4x link pays 30.
Can paths run outside the grid?
Yes. The search allows one cell of margin around the board, so two tiles on the same outer edge usually link without touching the interior.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Tap-to-select works with touch and mouse, and there is nothing to install.
