Pipeworks lays out a grid of pipes with the source in one corner and the outlet somewhere else, and every pipe is turned the wrong way. Tap one to spin it a quarter turn and route the water from source to outlet. Three boards, 5x5 then 6x6 then 7x7, and the run clock is shared across all three rather than reset at each boundary.
Controls
- Rotate — Tap or click a pipe to turn it a quarter turn
- Pause — P
Tips & Tricks
- 1Every board is a spanning tree — one connected route with no loops and no dead ends — so each pipe has exactly one correct orientation. If the water has reached a pipe, that pipe is already right and you never have to revisit it.
- 2A rotation that leaves a pipe correct pays thirty points and one that leaves it wrong pays three, which means the score is not a measure of efficiency: rotating wildly and settling late can outscore a clean solve. The level bonus of 150 is the part that rewards finishing.
- 3The run starts at 150 seconds and each cleared level adds 25. The clock does not stop between boards, so those 25 seconds are the entire allowance for going from 5x5 to 6x6, and the same again for 7x7.
- 4The boards are 25, 36 and 49 cells while the clock stays fixed, so the last board is where a run is won or lost — arriving at it with under a minute left is not enough.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is every puzzle solvable?
Yes, by construction rather than by checking. Each board is generated as a random spanning tree over the grid, which is a single connected route with no cycles, then the pipes are randomly rotated. Any spanning tree routes the source to the outlet, so an unsolvable board cannot be produced.
How is the score calculated?
Thirty points for a rotation that leaves a pipe correctly oriented, three for one that does not, and 150 for clearing a level. With three levels the ceiling is 450 for the clears alone, plus rotations.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. The whole input is a tap on a grid cell, read from the canvas coordinates, so touch and mouse behave identically and no keyboard is needed at any point.
