Shikaku Rooms gives you a grid with a few numbers scattered in it and asks you to cut the whole thing into rectangles. Every rectangle must contain exactly one number, and that number must equal the rectangle's area in cells. Three boards, 5x5 then 6x6 then 7x7, inside one 120-second clock.
Controls
- Draw — Tap a number to pick it up, then tap the opposite corner of its rectangle
- Reselect — Tap the same number again to put it down
- Pause — P
Tips & Tricks
- 1A 1 fills itself: a clue marked 1 has to be a 1x1 rectangle, so that cell is decided the moment the board loads. Clear the 1s first and the grid around them gets smaller for everything else.
- 2A clue whose value equals the full width of the board has to be a single row, and one that equals the height has to be a single column — both readable at a glance once you know the board size.
- 3Cells are shared out, so the areas must add up to the grid exactly. On a 5x5 that is 25 cells across whichever clues are on the board, which is a checkable fact at any point rather than only at the end.
- 4The clock does not reset between boards: 120 seconds covers 25, 36 and 49 cells, so the 7x7 gets whatever the first two left. Score is a count of rectangles, not of boards, so a fast board one pays as well as a slow board three.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a rectangle valid?
It must contain exactly one clue, and its area in cells must equal that clue. Together the rectangles must cover the whole grid without overlap, which is checked once every cell is claimed.
How many boards are there?
Three, of 5x5, 6x6 and 7x7, in one 120-second run. Each carries more rectangles than the last, and the clock is shared rather than reset between them.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. A rectangle is two taps on opposite corners, read from canvas coordinates, so touch and mouse behave the same.
