Harbour Docking is a slow-motion driving test: get the boat around a marked course and alongside the dock without touching anything. Three rounds, three lives, and a throttle and rudder that both take time to respond, so the skill is in planning a turn before you need it.
Controls
- Throttle — Arrow Up and Arrow Down, in steps of 0.15
- Rudder — Arrow Left and Arrow Right
- Pause — P
Tips & Tricks
- 1Both controls are stepped rather than held: each press moves the throttle by 0.15 of its range and the rudder by a fixed step, and both stay where you left them. It is a tanker, not a racing car — nothing returns to neutral on its own.
- 2The course is a chain of ten nodes and the win is arriving at the end of it, so the shortest line is not necessarily the fastest: a wide entry into a turn costs less speed than a late correction.
- 3Three lives and three rounds. The lives are shared across the rounds rather than reset at each, so a sloppy first round is paid for in the third.
- 4Nothing kills you except contact, so the safe strategy is a low throttle and a lot of rudder early. Speed buys nothing here — there is no clock, only a hull that stops when it touches something.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a run?
Three rounds, each a ten-node course, with three lives shared across all of them. Reaching the end of the course completes the round.
How does the throttle work?
In steps of 0.15 per press, from zero to one, and it stays at the value you set. Holding a key down does not make it climb faster — each press is a discrete ratchet, which is why the boat feels heavy.
Can I play on my phone?
No. Steering comes from the four arrow keys only: the canvas pointer is wired to the acceptance harness and there is no on-screen throttle or rudder, so a touch screen can start the game but cannot move the boat. That is a defect and it is still open.
